There are no rules …
Only sins. And the cardinal sin is dullness.
Frank Capra
Creation’s desire to change
Absorbed, he sat under the cover of time, observing Creation’s desire to change: She was already bare at her hands and feet, but her torso was still covered, her face draped with impervious clothes that were winding like a fog- fabric around her hips, her neck, her face, and before one could think, she had already disappeared backstage.
He had a burning wish to see her as a whole. All too much he had heard and read about her well-proportioned measurements, the golden crotch and all. But he had also noticed for a long time, no one had actually reported any details. Everything was always hidden behind a cloud of befogged metaphors.
But now he wants to see her full beauty. Bare and without prejudice. He wants to know who helps her change her clothes. Which kind of fabrics she prefers. So, he rises from the comfortable plushy audience, enters the parquet, walks across to the front – a murmur runs through the hall, then the audience holds its breath – he soars onto the stage and, reaching the top takes on the role of the hero. He was mistaken, the part is difficult, his stomach turns, his pulse hammers, but he calls for her, at first miserably, yet with every trial more determined, finally, summoning all his courage, when she doesn’t show up, penetrating backstage.
There she sits, extensively applying makeup to her lips. She is wearing a red, close-fitting velvet dress, is blond and, from behind, looks like the clichéd Hollywood diva with low-cut cleavage. He stops, bewildered and disenchanted, rubs his disbelieving eyes, but before he can get any closer to her, security guards rush in and drag the violently resisting visitor away.
He just manages to call out to Creation, „Turn around, are you really so …“ – „like a diva from Hollywood?“ she finishes his question and beams directly into his stunned hero face. „Every now and then, when my desire to change becomes omnipotent, I just slip into robe and role of what people admire. What do you think, does this Kate Winslet look suit me? I feel like a million bucks in her proportions. You know that flick The Dress Maker? …“
